We spent the morning painting our clay creations from Thursday. Sylvie mixed paint to find the perfect shade of blue before painting her robin eggs & Ridley mixed lots of metallic colors together for decorating his clay beads.
During morning snack, we listened to a story about a robin and her nest. After the story, we passed around a little robin egg we found last week on the ground. Autumn kissed the egg :)
In the park, we found a white redbud tree! What a surprise! We thoroughly enjoyed eating the flowers and wondering about what other colors of redbud trees exist.
We also played with the walkie talkies in the Bird Sanctuary and collected edible flowers like bluebells, redbuds, dandelions, and violets before heading back to school because we were all freezing.
In the classroom, we ate lunch and then played a bit more before rest time. Ridley and Rigel created a train track that looped all the way around the classroom and included lots of little ramps.
After rest, we headed upstairs to the kitchen where we melted chocolate and decorated it with all the flowers we collected. We thought it was so beautiful (and delicious)!
We ended our day with lots of time outside. We pet the chickens, drilled holes in a piece of cedar and noticed that the wood shavings were pink, and worked together to build an intricate waterway system with PVC.
