We have been keeping track of the number of days our Painted Lady caterpillars have been in their chrysalises using tally marks. So far, it has been seven days! We wonder when they will emerge :)
Sylvie worked hard to create a butterfly out of rubber bands and Ridley & Autumn completed their paper butterfly projects this morning.

In the park, we gathered violets and dandelions and used them to make art. Did you know you can color with flowers?

A while later, we hiked over to the secret bridge where we pretended to fish for eels and then mastered a big jump across the creek. We slipped into the water a couple times, but after many attempts, figured out how to jump across without falling in. We felt very proud of our bravery!

On our walk back to school, we saw the Bird Man and he told us that the great horned owl moved to a new pine forest. He also told us that he saw a turtle at the duck pond. We’re excited to find both our owl friend and the turtle tomorrow!

As we passed the Evergreen Nursery, we said hello to the trees and noticed lots of little red cones growing on the fir trees. We shook and tapped the branches and watched as clouds of pollen drifted into the breeze. Magic!

After rest, we headed outside to play with play dough, look for more chicken eggs, paint, and perfect our PVC waterway.
