We had the best day exploring the duck pond, searching for bird nests, pretending to fish for frogs with willow branches, getting lost in the bamboo jungle, and climbing cherry trees!

Before we headed to the park this morning, we checked on a robin nest near the front porch. Robin didn’t lay her blue eggs yet, but we’ll be checking back frequently. We did find one broken egg on the ground. We had lots of ideas about what happened and think that a snake may have eaten it! We are going to find some books that have answers to our questions about which animals eat bird eggs :)

Back in the classroom, we had fun sequencing animal life cycles. So far, we can sequence the life cycle of a robin, a frog, and a monarch butterfly. We noticed that they all hatch from an egg, but that they are different in lots of other ways.

We ended our day with a dance party, read aloud, popcorn, and puzzles!
