We were very busy this morning! We painted, pretended to bake a cake using an assortment of colorful wool balls, and created art on the easel with sticky paper, string and buttons. During our morning circle, we had lots of ideas to share about being kind. It seems we thoroughly enjoyed yesterday’s read aloud of When We Are Kind and have taken the story’s message to heart.

In the park, Ridley said that holding hands when we’re crossing the street is a way to be kind. Rigel added that helping someone in an emergency, like when they’re stuck in a tree is another way to be kind :)

We had tons of fun listening to music as we completed our obstacle course! The spirals tell us to twirl, the arrows tell us to run, the stars tell us to hop, the squiggly lines tell us to tiptoe, the sideways lines tell us to sidestep, the rainbow tells us to dance, and the circles tell us to clap. Phew! That’s a lot to remember!

On our way to find a nice spot to eat lunch, we noticed water under the bridge. It became the perfect spot to cool down. We made bridges with our bodies for friends to crawl under, splashed around, and dropped small berries into the water to watch them float with the current.

When we got back to school we were very sweaty, so we stripped down and took a plunge in our new kiddie pool. It was so refreshing! We swam around for a while before drying off and heading inside for rest.

After rest, we made pawpaw popsicles! First, we had to harvest some ripe pawpaws from the trees in the backyard. We know they’re ripe when they fall to the ground. Then, we brought the pawpaws inside, cut them in half lengthwise and separated the seeds from the flesh. Once we were done with that, we dumped the bowl of flesh into the blender along with two cans of coconut milk and two tablespoons of maple syrup. We can’t wait to taste our popsicle treats tomorrow during snack time!

At the end of the day, we helped put all of our sweaty clothes into the washing machine and then watched excitedly as the dirty laundry spun around and around. Everyone wanted a front row seat to the show :)
