We spent the morning building people, cars, bikes, and fruit out of wooden shapes. We also watched the video of the owl from yesterday and looked at a poster of all the different owl species that live in Missouri. We think the owl we saw yesterday (and again today!) looks most like a Great Horned Owl because of the pointy ears and white fluffy chin.
In the park, we visited our climbing tree and played in it for a very long time. We pretended we were running out of time and needed to “build it” quickly. We used short sticks as hammers and long sticks as paintbrushes (to paint the house). We love using out imagination!
We decided to adventure over to the pine forest to eat lunch and to use the binoculars to search for the owl. We found her again! It was tricky looking at her through the binoculars, but we’re starting to get the hang of it.
We also found a big ball of string in the pine forest. We wrapped it around tree trunks and even around ourselves! We had fun pretending we were tied to the tree :)
After rest, we headed back outside to soak up this gorgeous weather. We made glitter potions at the sensory table, played with the rainbow ball, racked all the leaves off Ty & Sandy’s deck, danced to songs on the ukulele, and sang the Pizza Song at least twenty times! Then we made chicken and salt soup in the big water trough :)
