This morning we began making decorations for the classroom. We decided to make Christmas trees today and Chanukah stars tomorrow :) Wrapping the string around the trees was tricky, but our fingers are getting so strong and we were able to do it with very little help.

In the park, we wanted to jump in the humongous pile of leaves again, but to our disappoint, the pile was gone! So, we decided to use our new rake to make our own pile.

In the pine forest, we made a sundial to mark the passing time. Then, we spotted a big owl up in the top of the tree!! It was very exciting and we had fun looking up at it from different vantage points. We’re going to look at photos of owls after rest to see if we can identify

A while later, we self-organized a game of Duck Duck Goose. We had a blast chasing each other around the circle!

After lunch, we explored another creek bed over by the cypress grove. It was filled with rust-colored cypress needles, which we thought made the ground look so pretty. Some parts of the creek bed were muddy and slippery and we had to work as a team to help everyone get up and out. Sylvie found a long stick that she used to pull Autumn up.

At the end of the path, we found a bridge! We climbed up and over it many times before beginning our journey back to the pine forest where we left the stroller. On the walk back, we crossed the secret bridge, collected ginkgo nuts, and hooted like owls.

After rest, we finished our holiday tree decorations, listened to a story about a mouse who sets out to collect firewood for his family and ends up needing the help of other forest friends, and played a movement game.
