This morning we excitedly put together a new train set that works with a remote control! We had so much fun making the train go around the track really fast and then really slow. We also directed the train to go forward and backward! Choo choo!

In the park, we visited Grandmother Catalpa. We hid in her trunk and pretended it was our home. Then, Ridley met up with us and we played an epic game of hide and seek. Autumn had such a good hiding spot that it took us a very long time to find her :)

A while later we wandered over to the osage orange tree we like to climb and then to the old pavilion. We had a dance party in the pavilion and found a trap door in the floorboards. We think that’s where the monster sleeps!

We all wanted to eat lunch over by the fountain in the lily pad pond, so we did! After lunch we had a blast climbing the rock walls, chasing the geese, pretending to fish with long willow branches, hiding in the huge bamboo bush, and searching for turtles.

After rest, we cut the oyster mushrooms off of our grow box. They grew so fast! We’re going to cook them tomorrow for snack.

Then, we decorated small wooden cubes to look like presents and loaded them into one of the train cars. We played a game called “delivery” for quite a while — taking turns being the conductor :)

We ended the day with the mystery bag game, but this time the bags contained wooden shapes. We learned about 3D shapes like cylinders, square pyramids, spheres, and cubes.
