We can’t get enough of the train set!!! Because we were getting in lots of arguments today about whose turn it was to be the “train engineer,” we decided to use the 2-minute sand timer to regulate how long each person’s turn would last :) After that, it was smooth sailing.
In the park, we built a pretend fire out of small stones and then stuck walnut shells onto the ends of sticks and made believe they were marshmallows. We roasted our marshmallows over the fire and thought they were just delicious.
A while later, we built a fort over the picnic table to try and take refuge from the wild wind. We had fun pretending the fort was our home and that we were hiding from the wolf.
After rest, we made gingerbread cookies! It was hard for Deidre to take photos because her hands were covered in sticky dough :) The cookies are for a special surprise for our families.
We ended the day with some sand art, more train shenanigans and a little dance party.
