We were so excited when Mrs. Chiao Chiao stopped by this morning to deliver a bunch of new costume dresses! We tried them all on and voted on three to keep :) We’re looking forward to showing them to Ridley when he comes back to school.

After playing dress-up, we worked hard on our Valentine’s cards. We made a card for Moonshine, Mrs. Chiao Chiao, and for our siblings and parents. Then, we headed out into the snow for an adventure.

In the park, we shoveled snow into a crate, packed it down with our feet, turned it over, and then lifted it up to reveal a snow cube! At first, we decided we wanted to make three snow cube chairs. Sylvie was a queen, Autumn was an alligator, and Rigel was a tree trimer — each sitting on their throne :)

A while later, we decided that we wanted to build a snow cube house. We got to work filling the crate, packing down the snow, smoothing out the edges and stacking the cubes (with help, of course). After working really hard to make six cubes, we decided a house would take forever. So, we pretended the cubes were stairs IN the house and had a blast climbing up and over them and jumping from the top.

We ate lunch in the pine forest again today and shared how grateful we were for the dry pine needles to sit on. Then, we headed back to school on foot — following the same tire tracks from yesterday. We sang songs along the way and invented lots of new melodies :)

After rest, we played on the balance board and then looked at a new deck of animal cards. We had fun guessing which card Deidre was holding in her hand by listening to the clues about the animal. We are very good as guessing games! When the game was over, we laid out all of the cards on the circle rug, counted them, and looked to see which animals could be domesticated and which ones couldn’t. We were surprised to learn that camels, donkeys, and sheep can all be kept as pets!
