What a day!
We spent the morning: building homes for our dollhouse people, making a cake from scratch, and then exploring the ice in the pond at the Bird Sanctuary.
After rest, we worked on our Great Horned Owl book before heading up to the kitchen to excitedly smother our cake in chocolate frosting. Mostly, we couldn’t wait to lick the knife :) We then added rainbow sprinkles, counted out four candles, and sang the birthday song to Ridley.
We ended the day with a dance party per Autumn’s request (apparently it’s not a birthday party without dancing) and a fun new game of “don’t touch the water.” For this game, we moved a bunch of rugs and then ran in a loop around the classroom, trying to leap from rug to rug without letting our feet touch the cement floor (aka water). We couldn’t stop laughing and Deidre played too! We were all so sweaty when the game was over and can’t wait to play again on Monday.
We’re excited to see each other on Sunday at Ridley’s REAL birthday party!
