What a chilly day! Unfortunately, because of the low temperatures, we stayed indoors. Fortunately, we had tons of fun despite being cooped up :)
We played lots of board games! Our favorites were Snail Pace Race (the pink snail one, which was our prediction from the beginning) and The Moon Game. The Moon Game is all about balancing small cylindrical pieces of colorful wood atop a crescent moon. If you don’t carefully distribute the weight evenly, the moon rocks one direction or the other and all of the cylinders topple down. It’s lots of fun!
We also pulled out the light table and explored color by layering squares of colored cellophane. We learned that blue on top of yellow makes green. However, the most exciting color discovery was purple! “It’s PURPLE! How is it PURPLE?!”
For snack, we headed to the kitchen to whip up some pancakes. We used cassava and tapioca flour, banana water (milk alternative that was new to all of us, including Deidre), salt, baking soda, ACV, and maple syrup. It was definitely an experiment, but they somehow turned out to be very yummy.
Later in the day, we had a dance party. “This is my FAVORITE song!” “I have a new move I can show you.” :)
After rest we learned how to roll snakes out of playdough and then we busted out the old school tape player. We loved pushing the buttons, ejecting the cassette tape, flipping it over and listening for which song would magically play next.
We ended our day with yoga and then we took turns showing each other a “cool move” and asking everyone to try it out. Rigel showed us how to make a rainbow with your body. The key, he says, is to have your head on the ground.
Have a cozy weekend everyone! Looking forward to Sylvie returning on Monday!
