march 15
Some of us are very interested in numbers as of late, and so we used a measuring stick to measure the length of branches, daffodils and our feet. Then, we hit the pavement for some obstacle course fun.
Today, we made the obstacle course completely on our own! There was a bunny to bounce on, a sun to say “sun” on, the letter U to say shout out a gratitude, and lots of smaller shapes and arrows that mean various things. We had a blast coming up with the action associated with each part of the obstacle course and would sometimes say, “I haven’t figured out what that one means yet.”
We also returned to the “hospital tree” as we now call it for an epic game of Capture the Princess. The long, bendy part of the tree was a sword that the “guard” used to “fight the bad guys.” We rough housed, ran around, and climbed for hours!
After rest, we were all VERY excited to see what Ridley brought for Show and Tell. He showed us how a CD walkman works and we all took turns listening to The Beatles. It was great fun!
We ended our day with some painting with rollers and water play at the mud kitchen. We found some PVC pipes today and connectors and enjoyed figuring out how to channel water from one location to another. We tested out lots of different configurations of the pipes and learned that water, in this case, has to run downhill. We also used lots of different tools to inject water through the small opening in the pipe and found the turkey baster to be the clear winner for accuracy :)
So grateful for the sunshine today!
