march 30
We spent the morning building train stations and exploring our new color-changing magic markers.
Then, we headed out into the rainstorm to splash in puddles, stomp in mud & search for signs of Spring. We found a really fun flower tunnel and lots of daffodils.
When the rain picked up, we took shelter beneath the fir trees. While we waited out the storm, we poked little twigs into sap-filled holes. We liked how the sap oozed out of the tree trunks. “The sap is SO sticky! Maybe we can bring some back to school and use it to glue things together.” So, tomorrow, we’re going to bring a container to collect the sap and see if it can be used as a glue replacement.
On our walk back to school, we spotted our “hospital tree” in the distance. “It’s SO big and full of a hundred ten flowers!!” We were very excited about all of the new magnolia blooms and can’t wait to show Autumn and Ridley on Monday.
After rest, we baked chocolate chip cookies, listened to a new story about evergreen trees, and played a game with our book of bird sounds where we tried to guess the bird’s name just by listening to her song.
We ended our day with lots of singing and movement to the ukulele :)
