Today we played hide-and-seek in the field mustard, while also munching on the delicious yellow flowers. We think the flowers taste like broccoli! We also climbed the yew bush, checked on the park chickens, and sang lots of songs together.

We ate lunch in the garden at school and listened to Hamilton songs per Sylvie’s request :) We watched some baby bunnies while we ate and talked about all the things we’re grateful for.

When we finished eating, we played in the backyard. We looked under rocks for worms to feed to the chickens, learned that the chickens like wild strawberry leaves, collected eggs and worked on our super secret Mother’s Day projects.

After rest, we awoke to find that one of the butterflies had emerged from her chrysalis! We were so excited! Sylvie and Ridley used pipettes to squeeze honey water onto cotton balls. Then, we placed the saturated cotton balls into the butterfly enclosure. We hope they like their food!

We ended the day with lots of imaginative play. We linked beads together to make worms and snakes, looked at new books, counted the number of days it took for the butterfly to emerge, danced around the classroom and build really big Magna Tile garages for our animals.
