We had such a great time on our field trip this morning to the Forest Park nature playscape! There was so much to explore! We especially loved the water pump and all of the rocks to climb on. We spent quite a long time in the pond area jumping from one tree stump to the next, then pretending to be stuck so a friend would come and save us :) We were also the ONLY ones there and had the entire playscape to ourselves!

The sandbox feature was a new experience for us as we don’t encounter sand at school on a daily basis. Some of us didn’t love the feeling of sand between our toes and on our skin, but we still had fun building “hills” and burying Deidre’s feet. Good thing there was so much water around us to rinse off!

The only bummer about our field trip was that we wanted to stay longer. Three hours just isn’t enough time!

After rest, we felt very silly and made up a game where we squish someone in their mat like a sandwich. We couldn’t stop laughing and played with/on our nap mats for a while — inventing one hilarious game after another.

At the end of the day, we all worked together to complete a tree frog puzzle. It took lots of patience and attention to detail, which some of us really enjoyed and others not so much. Those that stuck with it, completed it and were very proud of their efforts. We think that a puzzle with less pieces might be easier for next time :)
