We had lots of fun this morning using a long cardboard tube as a “ride” for our cars and people figurines. We also enjoyed adding faces to the jack-o’-lanterns on the chalk door!

In the park, we played “family” for a very long time. Each of us took on a different role (baby, mommy…) and we did a lot of cuddling, sleeping, and eating. Sylvie was calling everyone “darling” :)

We also climbed on the magic dragon bridge, sang songs, found a woolly bear caterpillar, looked for birds with the binoculars, decorated sticks with markers, and jumped off many benches while holding hands. “Ready, set, pas-ghetti!”

During lunch, we had a long conversation about whether or not trees can talk. We learned that they communicate through their mycorrhizal networks and that the original caretakers of the land also knew how to communicate with the trees. Before we harvested more sumac leaves today, we asked permission from the tree and listened for her response. “She said yes!” So, we harvested leaves and thanked her for sharing.

After rest, we played with dried rice and Fall spices at our sensory table. We especially enjoyed using the funnel and scoopers. We also painted at the easel! “I made green because I mixed yellow, blue and a little white!” Mixing colors was like magic. Ridley figured out that mixing all the colors together makes brown.

Today, we are all so grateful for the breeze and for our friends, the trees :)
